On June 17, 2014, the Faculty of Communication and Design hosted the conference “The Media vs. the Ballot Box: Three Cases from Recent Campaigns: Pedro Bordaberry, Luis Lacalle Pou, and Tabaré Vázquez.” Participants included Daniel Eskivel, an expert in political psychology and political marketing; Daniel Supervielle, a journalist and strategic consultant; and Esteban Valenti, a journalist and publicist. The speakers analyzed the campaigns leading up to the political parties’ primary elections and their impact on the results. The event was organized by the faculty’s Department of History, Politics, and Society.

The session was moderated by Mauricio Rabuffetti, Chief Economist at the Agency AFP for Latin America and a contributor to the "En Perspectiva" program on El Espectador radio.

Eskivel is a psychologist, political consultant, professor, and writer. He applies psychology to political marketing, offering deep insights into voter behavior and proposing communication strategies that enhance the effectiveness of election campaigns.

Supervielle worked as a journalist for media outlets such as La Mañana, Búsqueda, El Observador, Canal 12, Canal 5, X FM, El Espectador, and Radiofutura. He served as a communications consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the production company Metrópolis, the firm Reef Brazil, the massive Fiesta de la X, and Fox Sports.

Valenti was the editor-in-chief of the international news agency Inter Press (Rome), a political and military analyst, and Director General of the Uruguayan news agency Pressur.
