Conference: "School Games: Understanding the Rules to Expand Opportunities for Our Children"

On May 28, 2015, the Faculty of Communication and Design hosted a lecture titled “The School Game: Understanding the Rules to Increase Opportunities for Our Children,” presented by Jean-Baptiste Huynh, creator of the Dragonbox video game series, which revolutionized the teaching of algebra and geometry. The conference, organized by the faculty’s Video Games Department, was aimed at parents, educational software/game developers, and individuals interested in the use of technology in education.

Jean-Baptiste Huynh is the director of the video game studio WeWantToKnow in Norway. His video game Dragonbox was described by The New York Times as “the most impressive math-teaching app we’ve seen.”

The event took place as part of the National Video Game Competition organized by Ingenio with the support of ANTEL and Universidad ORT Uruguay of Universidad ORT Uruguay.
