Dr. Nicolás Gambetta, academic coordinator of the Graduate Programs in Accounting and Taxation at the School of Management and Social Sciences and holder of the AECA (Spanish Association of Accounting and Business Administration) Carlos Cubillo Chair in Accounting and Auditing - Ibero-American Chapter, received in July 2018 the Special Doctoral Award granted by the University of Valencia for his doctoral dissertation "Risk management in the banking industry."
The winning theses are selected from among the works that receive a grade of summa cum laude, with the ones of the highest academic quality being chosen.
In the case of Dr. Gambetta, the scholar received the Special Doctoral Award from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Valencia because, as a result of his doctoral dissertation, he published four articles in peer-reviewed journals classified as JCR Q2, such as the *International Review of Economics & Finance*, the *Journal of Business Research*, and *Service Business*, and presented academic papers related to his dissertation at nine peer-reviewed international conferences.
