Alejandro Adorjan, MSc, associate academic coordinator of Systems Engineering, participated as a member of the Steering Committee for the 8th IEEE Region 9 World Congress on Engineering Education (EDUNINE), which took place from March 10 to 13 in Guatemala. During the event, Adorjan formally presented Universidad ORT Uruguay the host institution for the 2025 edition of the international conference.

The IEEE World Congress on Engineering Education (EDUNINE) is held each year in a different city in Latin America. It is an annual conference of the IEEE Education Society, organized jointly with COPEC—the Science and Education Research Organization for Region 9 (Latin America). It is part of the society’s renowned list of regional conferences, which includes Frontiers in Education (FIE), primarily in the United States and Canada; the Global Engineering Education Conference (EDUCON), in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa; the EDUNINE World Engineering Education Conference, in Latin America; and Teaching Assessment and Learning in Engineering (TALE), in Asia and Oceania.

The Steering Committee is responsible for the overall oversight of the event; it establishes the conference’s long-term objectives and is responsible for making strategic decisions and providing guidance, oversight, and support during the organization of activities.
