Ana Laura Pérez, MBA, academic coordinator of Journalism and Digital Content at the School of Communication and Design, was selected in September by the FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean to serve as a judge for the print media category in the 2020 World Food Day journalism contest.
Under the slogan #ThePowerOfStories, the organization awarded scholarships to four of the best entries to pursue certificate programs at prestigious universities in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.
The contest was open to journalists and media professionals working in Latin American and Caribbean media outlets, or serving as correspondents for international media. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) recognized journalistic work addressing topics related to the theme of World Food Day 2020: "Grow, Nourish, Preserve. Together."
