DataBootCamp in Uruguay

February 19, 2014
Uruguay's first DataBootCamp will take place from March 12 to 14, 2014.

The first DataBootCamp in Uruguay (a data literacy camp) will take place from March 12 to 14, 2014.

Participants will learn how to find, extract, analyze, and visualize public data using tools to tell better journalistic stories. They will also work in teams to build new news applications and civic engagement sites that will help enhance the value of traditional reporting.

The best projects will receive a prize of $1,000 or $2,000 to turn their prototypes into actual products.

This DataBootCamp will be led by experts from Google, BBC News, the Open Knowledge Foundation, Knight Fellows from the International Center for Journalism, and representatives from regional startups.

Space is limited and spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend sign up as soon as possible.
