On this occasion, Dr. Matturro delivered a lecture titled “Soft Skills in Software Engineering and Software Entrepreneurship,” in which he reviewed his research on a topic of importance to those interested in the human aspects of software engineering, such as human resources managers, software project team leaders, and curriculum designers for degree programs related to software development and information systems.
According to Matturro, “Software development requires professionals with knowledge and experience in various methodologies, tools, and techniques. However, so-called soft skills are just as important—if not more so—than traditional technical skills.”
This category of soft skills includes teamwork, effective communication, problem-solving, and customer focus, to name just a few.
“The topic of soft skills and their relevance to software engineering has garnered the attention of researchers and professionals in recent years due to its implications for teaching and professional practice.”
