The School of Architecture at Universidad ORT Uruguay, in collaboration with Radio FM Like, is proud to announce the 20th edition of Design Your Room.
This contest for high school students not only challenges the creativity and design talent of high school students in Uruguay, but also offers the extraordinary opportunity to win a full scholarship to pursue a university degree at the School of Architecture.
Can you imagine turning your ideas into reality and taking the first step toward your career in architecture or your Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design with a 100% scholarship?
20th edition of the "Design Your Room" Contest
The contest challenges participants to design and furnish a personal space—a real or imaginary room—that reflects their creativity and technical skills.
Projects should incorporate daily activities such as rest, leisure, and study, demonstrating a holistic understanding of interior design.
Awards
- First Prize: A full scholarship to pursue a degree in Architecture or a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.
- Second prizes: Two 50% scholarships to pursue the same degree programs.
- Additional awards: Six full scholarships for the course“Architectural Projects Using BIM Methodology.”
Eligibility
The challenge is open to 5th- or 6th-year high school students in any academic track at public or private institutions in Uruguay, or their equivalent at UTU.
The live of faculty members at the School of Architecture and Radio FM Like are excluded from participating.

Stages of the contest
- Registration and Submission of Papers: Participants must register individually using the form on the faculty’s website. Registration and submission deadline: Monday, July 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
- Awards Ceremony: The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., both in person and via Zoom.
- Announcement of results: The results will be published on Friday, August 23, 2024, on the contest website.
Proposal Requirements
- Projects may be submitted in 2D or 3D, using techniques such as sketches, axonometric projections, digital media, and others.
- Assignments should not include the student's name; only the project title should be included.

Participants will receive support from specialized advisors:
Jury
The jury will be composed of professors and leading professionals in the field of interior design, who will evaluate the entries based on criteria of innovation, quality, and functionality. Participating in this competition is not only an opportunity to win a scholarship, but also to receive valuable feedback from recognized experts.
