As part of Uruguay’s 13th Science and Technology Week, Prof. Oscar Iroldi, a professor of Economics and Tourism Management in the School of Business and Social Sciences, was invited to give two talks to high school students in Montevideo and Paysandú.
On June 26, 2018, Prof. Iroldi gave a talk titled "The New Economy of Tourism" to high school students at the Guichón Technical School. The event, which took place at the Guichón Municipal Auditorium, was supported by the Tourism Department of the Paysandú Municipal Government.
On June 27, he gave a lecture titled “The New Economy of Tourism” at the Higher School of Hospitality, Gastronomy, and Tourism in Montevideo, aimed at students and faculty in the school’s technical programs in Tourism Management, Hospitality, and Event Planning.
The goal of these events is to promote the academic activities of the various institutions and technical teams involved in tourism in our country.
The activities are organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining (MIEM), the Basic Sciences Development Program (PEDECIBA), the National Public Education Administration (ANEP), the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU), the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA), and the University of the Republic (Udelar), among other agencies and institutions.
