Professor spoke at the course "Advances in the Use of Wood in Urban Buildings"

Dr. Laura Moya, a tenured professor of Structures 4 in the School of Architecture, gave a lecture on November 14, 2017, on “Visual Grading of Taeda Pine and Elliottia Pine for Structural Use” as part of the course “Advances in the Use of Wood in Urban Buildings,” held at the Tacuarembó University Center of the University of the Republic.

In her presentation, Architect Moya presented the draft of UNIT 1261, the standard for the visual grading of sawn pine lumber, and discussed the fundamentals of visual grading based on strength and its importance for structural design.
