The conference, which is part of efforts to improve the performance and sustainability of eucalyptus plantations in order to increase their benefits, will take place in the city of Colonia del Sacramento during the week of November 20–24, 2023.
The objective of the IUFRO Working Group 2.08.03 on eucalyptus breeding and cultivation is to ensure the sustainable use of eucalyptus plantations through a better understanding of the genus’s genetics, appropriate strategies for reproduction and genetic conservation, and effective silvicultural practices.
With more than 800,000 hectares of eucalyptus, mostly from intensively managed and internationally certified plantations, Uruguay is an exceptional venue for the latest edition of this conference, which will focus on intensively managed eucalyptus plantations, featuring three days of presentations and one day of field visits.
