Dr. Paula Cardellino, a faculty member and researcher at the School of Architecture, will undertake a research visit at Newcastle University (United Kingdom) as a visiting researcher from June 5 to 22, 2019.
Cardellino was invited by Dr. Pamela Woolner, Senior Lecturer in Education and a faculty member at Newcastle University’s Centre for Learning and Teaching, with whom she will collaborate on developing new lines of research into the design of school buildings and their impact on educational change.
In addition, during her stay in Newcastle, she will participate in two events taking place at the university: she will serve as moderator and presenter at the event “Participation in the Design and Planning of Innovative Learning Environments” on June 12; and she will present her paper “Design for Learning: Imagining Preschool Space in a Uruguayan Setting” at a research tea on June 19, 2019.
