A professor presented the best research at the 2018 Drug Discovery for Neglected Diseases International Congress

The research paper “Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase is the molecular drug target of steroid derivatives” by Cecilia Ortiz, a biotechnology instructor at the Faculty of Engineering and a research assistant at the Laboratory of Redox Biology of Trypanosomes at the Institut Pasteur in Montevideo, won the Best Research Work award at the 2018 Drug Discovery for Neglected Diseases International Congress.

The event took place at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of the University of Buenos Aires from December 4 to 6, 2018, as part of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Chemistry and Drug Metabolism (UBA-CONICET).
