Architect Javier Olascoaga and Dr. Pablo Frontini, an architect and professor in Project 8 at the School of Architecture, received an honorable mention in the design competition for the construction of Plaza Las Pioneras, an inclusive public space located on Agraciada Avenue between General Aguilar and General Luna streets. The contest results were announced on September 4, 2018, at a ceremony attended by the mayor of Montevideo, Daniel Martínez.
The public space is located in the Arroyo Seco neighborhood on a half-hectare municipal lot.
The team that received the honorable mention also includes Helena Imhof, Raquel Lejtreger, Ana Laura Vázquez, Nadia Guadalupe, Ana Gilmet, Mariángeles Longo, Mariana Souto, Rafael Dodera, and Eliana Bayhaut, with the participation of the company Doriler S.A.
