Faculty members visited ORT's Graduate School of Business

The Universidad ORT Uruguay Graduate School of Business Universidad ORT Uruguay visits from Dr. José Pla Barber, Claudio Darin, MBA, Dr. Mauricio Gómez, Juan Carro, M.Sc., and Mariana Gattoni.

Dr. José Pla Barber, director of the Doctoral Program in Business Administration and professor of Business Organization at the University of Valencia, taught the course “Internationalization Strategy” in person as part of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the part-time Executive MBA (EMBA) programs from September 17 to 24, 2021.

Pla holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Valencia (Spain) and the University of Reading (United Kingdom). He holds a Master’s degree in Marketing and Commercial Distribution from the University of Valencia (Spain) / Chamber of Commerce (Spain). He is the Director of the Doctoral Program in Business Administration at the University of Valencia (Spain). He is a Professor of Business Organization at the University of Valencia (Spain) and a visiting professor at the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences, Universidad ORT Uruguay.

Claudio Darin, MBA, director of the Bachelor of Business Administration program at the School of Management and Business at the University of San Andrés, will teach the course “E-commerce and Integration” online as part of the Specialization Diploma in Marketing Management from September 17 to 30, 2021.

Darin is a Ph.D. candidate in Higher Education at the University of Palermo. He holds an MBA with a specialization in Marketing from ESIC Business & Marketing School in Madrid. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a degree in Public Accounting (cum laude) from the University of Buenos Aires. He is a former professor and director of the MBA program at the University of Palermo.

He has held management positions in the marketing departments of companies such as Telefónica, General Motors, Caterpillar, and Assist Card. As a consultant, he was a member of the Arthur Andersen Business Consulting team.

Dr. Mauricio Gómez, an associate professor at the School of Business Administration and Public Accounting at the National University of Colombia, led the Research Workshop for the Master’s in Taxation and Accounting Standards (IFRS), the Master’s in Financial Management, and the Master’s in Accounting and Finance via online sessions from July 13 to August 31, 2021.

Gómez holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, and Management Control from the University of Valencia. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant from the National University of Colombia. He is an associate professor at the School of Business Administration and Accounting at the National University of Colombia.

He is the director and editor-in-chief of *Innovar* magazine at the National University of Colombia. Member of the Advisory Editorial Board of *Public Money and Management* (United Kingdom). Member of the Evaluation and Administration Committee and the Law Committee of the National Commission for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (Conaces), Colombia. Visiting professor at the Paracentral Multidisciplinary Faculty, University of El Salvador. Former Deputy Comptroller General of the Nation, Colombia. Visiting professor at the School of Administration and Social Sciences.  

Juan Carro, M.Sc., a facilitator for training programs on creativity, personal development, teamwork, leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution, will lead an in-person Skills Development Workshop for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the blended-learning Executive MBA (EMBA) programs from September 26 to 28, 2021, in Colonia.

He will also lead the Creativity and Innovation seminar as part of the Management Skills Development Program, from October 5 to 8, 2021.

Carro holds a Master’s degree in Human Potential Development with a specialization in Organizations from the Instituto Desafío Celaya A.C. in Mexico. He is a Biochemical Engineer specializing in Food Processing from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, Querétaro Campus, in Mexico. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Autonomous University of Querétaro. He is a visiting professor in the School of Management and Social Sciences.

Mariana Gattoni, an independent consultant in organizational development and former professor of Labor Economics at Torcuato Di Tella University, will teach the course “Trends in Human Resources” online as part of the Master’s in Human Resources Management program from September 27 to 29.

Gattoni holds a master’s degree in Human Resources from the University of Buenos Aires and Torcuato di Tella University (Argentina). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Salvador (Argentina). Former Senior Consultant at Korn Ferry International. Former Headhunter at Spencer Stuart. Former Senior Manager of Regional Development at Philip Morris International. Visiting professor at the School of Business and Social Sciences.
