Joaquín Gairín currently teaches the course "Management of Organizational Development Processes" as part of the Master's in Educational Management program at the Institute of Education of Universidad ORT Uruguay.
The interview begins by highlighting how the concept of "educational management" has evolved in recent years, in line with the operational changes that have also taken place in educational institutions and their dynamics, focusing not only on outcomes but also on other factors such as organizational climate and levels of participation achieved.
According to Gairín, educational contexts are linked to the levels of organizational development achieved, which translate into a greater or lesser capacity to manage collective knowledge, resolve conflicts, or foster empathy among the groups involved in their initiatives. The main challenge facing senior management is to promote and consolidate processes of change.
