Dr. Moya will present a scientific paper on timber architecture at the CIMAD 24 conference (Spain)

May 20, 2024
Organized by the Wood Construction Research Group at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, this is the third Ibero-Latin American Congress on Wood in Construction (CIMAD 24), to be held in person from June 10 to 14, 2024, in Madrid, Spain.

There, the Dr. Laura Moya, a professor, researcher, and academic coordinator of the Specialization Diploma in the Design, Calculation, and Construction of Wood Structures at the Faculty of Architecture of Universidad ORT Uruguay, will present her article “Structural Behavior of Fast-Growing Pine Wood-to-Wood Joints and Wood Dowels.”

This gathering is shaping up to be a transoceanic and transcontinental event, presenting itself to the Americas and Europe as a gateway to significant opportunities for collaboration in the scientific, technological, and commercial spheres.

In a context where wood is emerging strongly as an efficient and sustainable material, the challenge lies in developing technology, engineering, products, tools, design, and architecture that are increasingly effective and environmentally friendly.
