Florida International University (FIU)’s Master of Science in Finance program and the Master’s in Financial Management program at Universidad ORT Uruguay a dual-degree agreement in September 2016.
The Master of Science in Finance is a master’s program designed for experienced professionals. Among other accolades, it was ranked by the Financial Times in 2014, 2015, and 2016 as one of the top five programs in the world for experienced finance professionals.
“Financial activities and services are among the most globalized in the world. Gaining access from Uruguay to a globally recognized credential such as FIU’s Master of Science in Finance provides an extraordinary competitive advantage and also serves as a strong endorsement of the quality of our program,” said Dr. Norma Pontet, coordinator of the Master’s in Financial Management program.
“The program involves one year of coursework in Uruguay and one year in Miami, which makes it much more feasible for working professionals,” Pontet added.
In turn, under this agreement, Universidad ORT Uruguay is expected to Universidad ORT Uruguay students from Florida International University. One of the objectives, in addition to complementing the academic training provided by their respective curricula, is the internationalization of both programs and cultural exchange.
The Master of Science in Finance is offered in Miami's financial district. The program focuses on banking, capital markets, and corporate finance.
