At a ceremony held on March 26, the National Academy of Economics paid tribute to the work and career of Isidoro Hodara, an economist and distinguished professional who served on the faculty of the School of Business and Social Sciences for more than three decades and also held the position of professor of International Trade.

In his professional career, he joined the board of directors of Zonamerica after 25 years with the company, where he had served as vice president. He also served as Director General of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Economy and Finance from 1985 to 1990.

The panelists invited by the National Academy of Economics to discuss Hodara’s career were Jorge Caumont, an economist and long-time professor at ORT, and Juan Labraga, an economist who succeeded Hodara as Chair of International Trade.
