Educational Organization and Management No. 4

July 25, 2016
It includes articles by Dr. Denise Vaillant and Juan Carlos Tedesco, scholars at the Institute of Education.

How does a low-performing education system become a high-performing one? Under what conditions could a system shift from a state of deprofessionalization to one of full professionalization? What educational policies strengthen and improve teacher performance? How can we ensure that these policies are sustained over time?

These are some of the questions raised by Denise Vaillant—who holds a Ph.D. in Education and serves as academic secretary of the Institute of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

In the article titled “Professional Development, Evaluation, and Teacher Policies in Latin America,” the author reflects on the education system and the situation of Latin American teachers.

The magazine also has article by Juan Carlos Tedesco—who holds a degree in Education Sciences, is a former Argentine Minister of Education, and serves as a visiting professor at Universidad ORT Uruguaytitled “Education in Latin America: Transformations and the Future.”

There, he analyzes recent changes, the current situation, and future educational challenges on the Latin American continent.

Both articles can be read in full in issue 4 of the journal *Organización y Gestión Educativa*, published by the European Forum of Educational Administrators and Wolters Kluwer.
