Alfredo Testoni trained in the photogravure workshop led by the Italian artist Gino Lugli. At the age of 16, he began his career as a photojournalist for the newspapers *El Pueblo*, *La Mañana*, and *El Diario*.
One of his first assignments was covering the sinking of the Graf Spee (1939). In 1950, he joined the newspaper El Debate as chief photographer, where he was responsible for producing the best photographic coverage of the World Cup at Maracanã.
He also worked as a photographer at Torres García’s studio starting in 1947.
In addition, since 1949 he has held numerous exhibitions both in Spain and abroad.
