The MOOC course ¡A Programar!/Code Yourself! was nominated for the 2018 WSIS Awards in the ICT Applications: E-learning category

The course ¡A Programar!/Code Yourself!, a joint project between Universidad ORT Uruguay the University of Edinburgh, was nominated for the 2018 WSIS (World Summit on the Information Society) Awards in the ICT Applications: E-learning category, alongside 33 other projects.

The final results will be announced at the WSIS Forum 2018, which will take place from March 19 to 23, 2018, in Geneva, Switzerland.

This MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) teaches the fundamental concepts of programming and software engineering using Scratch, a visual programming language developed in 2007 by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which allows participants to learn to program by dragging and dropping code blocks through a very simple graphical interface.

This is an introductory programming course for young people, featuring a common instructional design developed by Dr. Inés Kereki (Universidad ORT Uruguay) and Dr. Areti Manataki (The University of Edinburgh), who serve as instructors for theSpanish and English versions, respectively. Both versions are available free of charge on the Coursera platform.
