Professional Development for Educational Transformation

June 9, 2020
How can we promote educational equality? How can we encourage the development of skills that prepare students for an uncertain future? How can schools foster values that lead to a more just and cohesive society?

These are some of the questions raised in the book *Innovative Strategies for Teacher Training in Peacebuilding*, edited by Roser Bertran Coppini and Emilio Palacios in 2020.

This publication aims to encourage educators to reflect on their teaching practices and help them understand the strengths and weaknesses of those practices, with the goal of fostering the development of pedagogical knowledge.

In particular, the work has contribution by Dr. Lourdes Cardozo-Gaibisso, a graduate-level instructor at the Institute of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

His chapter—titled“Teacher Professional Development”—focuses on discussing and examining the initial training and professional development of teachers in Medellín (Colombia), as well as on exploring their potential and challenges.

The publication can be downloaded for free from the publisher's website.
