Dr. Andrés Ferragut, the new editor of the journal IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking

On December 26, 2016, Dr. Andrés Ferragut, an associate professor in the Data Networks area of the School of Engineering, was appointed editor of the journal *IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking* for a two-year term, renewable for two additional years.

Dr. Andrés Ferragut, an associate professor in the Data Networks division of the School of Engineering, was appointed on December 26 as editor of the journal*IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking* for a two-year term, renewable for an additional two years.

“This journal is one of the leading references on telecommunications networks within the international academic community, and it is also one of the journals with the highest impact in the JCR (Journal Citation Report) and Scopus indices for this field,” explains Ferragut.

Editors are responsible for coordinating the peer review of articles in their field, ensuring the quality of the double-blind peer review process, evaluating the quality of the publication, and providing feedback to authors.

“The appointment is an honor and a recognition of academic excellence,” says Ferragut, adding that it also helps raise his profile as a researcher and that of the Applied Mathematics for Telecommunications and Energy (MATE) group, of which he is a member.
