The "Espacio Memorial Penal de Libertad" project, designed by architects Raquel Lejtreger and Javier Olascoaga, has been selected for the 7th Ibero-American Design Biennial, to be held in Madrid, Spain.

The Central de Diseño space at the Matadero Madrid Center for Contemporary Creation (Spain) will host the upcoming 2020 Ibero-American Design Biennial, which will showcase recent design projects from Latin America, Spain, and Portugal.
Architects Lejtreger and Olascoaga are participating on behalf of Uruguay. The Biennale organizers have shared some of the participating proposals on their social media accounts.
Architect Javier Olascoaga teaches Project 7 and 8 in the Architecture program at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
The event's jury members are: Paola Antonelli, Anna Buckhardt, Fernando Campana, Humberto Campana, Ti Chang, Marisa Gallén, Stiven Kerestegian, Danielle Lafurie, Chaz Maviyane-Davies, and Marina Willer.
The biennial will open on November 23, 2020, and will remain open to the public until the end of January 2021.
