Eugenia Gil, Bulk Operations Manager at Trafigura, delivered a lecture titled “The World of Trading and Its Global Nature.” The event, which took place on July 14, was organized by the Bachelor’s Program in International Studies at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
During the conference, participants discussed how a national strike called in Colombia in protest of a tax reform affected the flow of raw materials to places such as Turkey and China.
In addition, drawing on the experience of Trafigura and other trading companies, the speakers explained the fundamentals of the commodities market and its impact on everyday life.
Eugenia Gil has years of experience working for multinational companies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and a master’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from EAE Business School in Madrid. In her current role, she oversees a team of 10 people who manage bulk cargo operations (coal and iron ore) throughout the Americas.
