"The sacrifice was made because we share a common passion"

August 8, 2016
Ilan Rosenfeld, co-director of "Olímpicos," spoke about the challenge of documenting the journey of Uruguayan athletes to Rio 2016.

The challenge was to answer the question, “What does it mean to be an Olympian in Uruguay?” Some of the protagonists of the documentary are Rodolfo Collazo, Emiliano Dumestre, and Bruno Cetraro (rowing), Pablo and Mikael Aprahamian (judo), María Pía Lorenzotti (table tennis), Néstor Nielsen (equestrian), Emiliano Lasa (long jump), Alejandro Foglia, and Dolores Moreira (sailing).

A few days before the start of the Rio Olympics, *Olímpicos*—a documentary about Uruguayan athletes co-directed by Martín Natalevich and Ilan Rosenfeld, a graduate of the university’s Audiovisual Communication program and an independent filmmaker—premiered, featuring eight short films.
