In 2005, Martín Cazet Trelles began studying for a degree in Public Accounting at Universidad ORT Uruguay. In 2004, he started working at Aiva Business Platforms as an Operations Assistant. He currently serves as Operations Manager at the company.
-In what year did you decide to study at Universidad ORT Uruguay, and why?
-I started in 2005 when, based on the options available on the market, I laid out various factors that I considered important, such as high standards, quality, staying up-to-date, and innovation, as well as a focus on group development, leadership, and personalized attention. I realized that ORT was the university that best met these criteria.
-What did you value most about college?
-What I value most about the university is the integrity of its governing bodies and its commitment to humanitarian values, as well as its constant pursuit of academic excellence and its promotion of tolerance and non-discrimination.
-How did you come up with the idea of pursuing a degree in public accounting?
-I was about to start my third year of the engineering program at the University of the Republic when I realized that it wasn’t really what I wanted to do professionally, so I began researching the various fields that interested me. I started meeting with professionals working in those fields, and based on that analysis, I decided to pursue a career as a certified public accountant.
-How did the race go for you?
-I found the program to be excellent in every way; the faculty is very focused on providing personalized attention, the facilities are top-notch, and the curriculum and grading system are also first-rate.
-What do you remember about the race?
-There are many things to remember about the program, but above all, the high standards, the drive to constantly improve, and the practical skills I gained.
-What would you highlight about the program?
-What stands out most about the program is its emphasis on teamwork, professional competence, and the drive for continuous improvement, all aimed at producing better professionals equipped with the tools they need to succeed in the job market, which is becoming more demanding every day. At the same time, the flexibility and adaptability of the curriculum allow us to stay abreast of the latest market trends.
-When did you start working?
-I started in 2004 at Aiva Business Platforms, where I worked as an Operations Assistant. I am currently the Operations Manager.
-How did your degree prepare you for the job market?
-There is no doubt that it helped me develop in various ways, enabling me to grow both professionally and personally. Among these, I would highlight the ability to apply what I’ve learned in the workplace.
-What are your plans for the future?
-Earn a Master's degree in Business Administration, continue to grow professionally, and start my own business.
