From June 17 to 20, 2019, the Faculty of Architecture welcomed German architect Alfred Jacoby, who is currently Professor Emeritus at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and Visiting Professor at the School of Architecture at the University of Naples, and who previously served as director of the Dessau Institute of Architecture at the German university.

Jacoby held meetings with the rector Universidad ORT Uruguay, Dr. Jorge Grünberg, and with the dean of the School of Architecture, Architect Gastón Boero Falcini, with whom he discussed various initiatives to be carried out at the school.

Among these initiatives, it is worth mentioning a design workshop held with students from the University of Naples and our School of Architecture to propose alternative construction plans for the site where the Mauá Dam currently stands, as well as a four-week international seminar featuring European and American academic guests to address issues on Montevideo’s urban planning agenda.
