The MiCheque startup, founded by Gonzalo Mesorio and Milton Rodríguez—both graduates of the Systems Engineering program—along with Mónica Mesorio, a graduate of the Public Accounting program, and Bruno Gimenes, was named the best fintech startup in Uruguay as part of the Open Talent competition organized by BBVA. The awards ceremony took place in the auditorium of Tower 2 of the World Trade Center on August 7, 2018.
The company, which has from the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) since its inception and seed funding from the National Development Agency (ANDE), offers a peer-to-peer check discounting system that allows individuals and small businesses to invest in checks.
In October, the members of MiCheque will travel to Madrid to participate in Immersion Week, and they will have the opportunity to attend other events and gatherings organized by BBVA.
