The investment comes from the Axo Group, a leading company in the representation of fashion brands in Latin America, and thredUP, one of the largest fashion resale platforms in the United States, according to a company press release published by El País on October 26, 2021.
The company's current goal is to expand throughout Latin America, with Brazil and Colombia being the next countries where it will establish a presence. "Vopero is a company with great potential and rapid growth, which offers customers more options while placing sustainability at the heart of its culture and operations," said Andrés Gomez, CEO of Grupo Axo, in a statement.
Founded in November 2020, Vopero received support from the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) and two of the founders of PedidosYa—Ariel Burschtin and Álvaro García (both ORT graduates)—who served as investors and mentors for the project.
The company onboarding more than 3,000 sellers and processed over 80,000 products, with a customer return rate of 70%, according to the press release.
