Helpers Montevideo, a startup incubated at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) since 2017, was the winner in the Latin America category at the fourth edition of the RTVE Emprende Awards in Torrespaña, Madrid.
The event, which took place on November 6, 2018, in Spain, was designed to recognize individuals and companies that have distinguished themselves in their professional fields through their excellence and their contribution to the values inherent in the entrepreneurial spirit, such as hard work, perseverance, effort, dedication, foresight, and success.
The five categories in which dozens of companies competed with their apps and products were: Latin America, Internationalization, Communication and Social Media, Emerging Companies, and Disability.
María Escario, Director of Communications at RTVE, presented the award to Keren Cohen Maman, Director of Institutional Relations at Helpers.
The organization provides first aid training and already has network of more than 4,500 volunteer helpers in Uruguay.
