In an interview with El País, architect Curzio spoke about ELdeS: his AI-powered app for teaching sign language

The graduate's innovative startup, which uses artificial intelligence to teach Uruguayan Sign Language, will expand into Europe through the European Union's accelerator program, receiving €30,000 in training and consulting services.

Architect Martín Curzio, a graduate of the Architecture program from the School of Architecture at Universidad ORT Uruguay, in an exclusive interview with the newspaper El País.

Curzio explained that ELdeS (Sign Language Teaching) is an app developed with the aim of facilitating the learning of Uruguayan Sign Language (LSU) through the use of artificial intelligence.

This app not only provides an accessible platform for those who want to learn LSU, but also uses advanced technologies to personalize the learning experience, adapting to each user’s pace and level.

The selection of ELdeS by the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator represents a significant achievement, allowing the startup to work alongside the Fundación Once de EspañaThis acceleration program provides mentorship and specialized advice, promoting the growth and expansion of the app in the European market.

In addition, Curzio noted that this opportunity provides them with international visibility and the chance to attract future investments that could help establish the project on a global scale. During the interview, Curzio also mentioned that ELdeS already has solid user base in Uruguay and that the short-term goal is to adapt the platform to different sign languages in other countries, expanding its impact and reach.

This initiative is an example of how technology and innovation can make a significant contribution to inclusion and accessibility, opening up new opportunities for the deaf community and those interested in learning their language.
