
Participants included Dr. Carlos Bazzano, director of the Institute of Dermatology and academic coordinator of the graduate program; Eduardo Hipogrosso, Vice President for Institutional Management and Development; Dr. Pablo Landoni, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Marcela Mailhos, MBA, Director of Marketing, Institutional Communications, and Admissions; Federico Banchieri, MBA, coordinator of Production and Audiovisual Imaging; Victoria Barzilai, admissions coordinator; and faculty members of the graduate program.
During the meeting, Dr. Bazzano presented theprogram’s academic guidelinesand discussed the unique features of the graduate program and the importance of having a graduate program in medical-surgical dermatology in Uruguay.
He emphasized the need to strengthen clinical and surgical expertise in the field by integrating professional practice with ongoing scientific and technological advancements.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the academic and professional profile of the specialization, as well as on educational challenges and opportunities for professional development in the field of dermatology. In addition, participants discussed issues related to faculty coordination, teaching methodology, and the program’s institutional outreach.
The first session of the Specialization Program in Medical and Surgical Dermatology will begin on April 20, 2026.
This event marked the beginning of a collaborative effort between the faculty and university administrators to establish the new graduate program, which aims to contribute to the advancement of dermatology in Uruguay and to provide advanced training for medical professionals in this field.
