Mr. Hipogrosso visited five universities:
- Central Saint Martins;
- London College of Fashion;
- University of Westminster;
- University of Northampton;
- Regent's University.
The goal was to promoteexchanges of students, faculty, and researchers Universidad ORT Uruguay for the purpose of conducting research activities, including joint projects, exploring opportunities for collaboration among faculty, and exploring other educational initiatives that strengthen the capacity of the partner institutions.
These institutional partnerships were developed as part of the Riesal Project (Regional Network for the Promotion of the Internationalization of Higher Education in Latin America) under the European Union’sErasmus+ Program.
Mr. Hipogrosso particularly emphasized that Central Saint Martins and the London College of Fashion are among the top ten design universities in the world according to all international rankings.
“These are two universities that are very difficult to get into,” says the dean of the School of Communication and Design.
“Sharing an academic experience at Central Saint Martins with students from all over the world (because diversity is the reality of today’s university environment) is enriching because it makes the academic and cultural process much more global,” said the dean.
"These experiences also contribute to networking for which students must be prepared," he noted.
Several of the degree programs at Central Saint Martins are similar to those offered by ORT’s School of Communication and Design.
Top-tier universities around the world are increasingly encouraging students to spend semesters abroad.
Universidad ORT Uruguay always promoted these activities, supporting students and helping them ensure that their exchange experience is a success both academically and personally.
In all cases where agreements are in place, the university also has the option of inviting foreign professors to teach classes, lead workshops, and conduct seminars, among other activities.
“A student who travels abroad for an exchange program not only enhances their academic potential but also enriches their cultural life,” the dean noted.
“The student really appreciates this opportunity the university offers and fully immerses himself in these experiences,” he concluded.
