Entrepreneurship Week organized by the CIE

From November 16 to 24, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) organized a variety of activities as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The agenda included courses, lectures, an exhibition of startup projects by graduates of the Center for Technological Entrepreneurship at the School of Engineering, and the closing of workshops organized by the CIE.

On the 16th, the"Entrepreneurship" videoconference took place, organized jointly with the Aspen Center at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, during which groups of student entrepreneurs exchanged experiences, presented their successful projects, and described the paths they took to create and develop their ventures.

On the 23rd and 24th, Dr. Alan Davis, a professor at the College of Business at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, taught the course Software-Based Entrepreneurship,aimedat ORT faculty, students, and graduates involved in various levels of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The course covered the key business aspects that must be developed alongside a software product.

Dr. Alan Davis also gave a lecture titled "Starting and Maintaining a New Company: Some Secrets of Entrepreneurship."

Dr. Davis holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

He has served as a consultant for various companies, including:

  • Boeing;
  • Federal Express;
  • Fujitsu;
  • General Electric;
  • IBM.
