On March 1, 2013, the website luzverde.com.uy published an interview with Gonzalo Carballo and Javier Correa, electronics engineering students at Universidad ORT Uruguay, in which they discuss their final project, which focuses on improving accessibility in the homes of people with disabilities.
For their thesis project, Gonzalo and Javier developed a device that allows people in wheelchairs to remotely control household components such as doors, windows, and lights. The device uses Bluetooth technology and is inexpensive.
