Synopsis
In *White Thorns, Private Parties*, Estramil draws us into a world where the apparent tranquility of the Uruguayan landscape conceals unsettling stories.
From a thief caught in the wrong place to characters entangled in family tragedies, superficial friendships, and past loves that never truly faded, the author explores the darkest depths of human nature.
With his characteristic ironic and raw voice, Estramil paints a picture of Uruguay that is as idyllic as it is hellish, where the coldness of psychopathy and the frenzy of primal emotions intertwine.
Through fifteen stories, Mercedes Estramil brings out the intensity of the characters and settings that have established her as one of the most powerful and original voices in contemporary Uruguayan literature.
Its detailed descriptions and deliberate use of raw language make *White Thorns, Private Parties* a work that defies convention and captivates the reader from the very first page.
