Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a promise—it is a reality. With this in mind, Marcel Mordezki, an engineer, delivered a lecture titled “Business Strategies in the Age of AI” at the Pocitos Auditorium.

Taking a critical yet optimistic view, the specialist in technology management and innovation addressed the current impact of AI on business, the organizational challenges involved in its adoption, and the future scenarios posed by this technological revolution.

Mordezki—who serves as a professor of Technology Management and Innovation at ORT—emphasized that, today, AI tools have reached a level of reliability that makes it nearly untenable not to integrate them into business strategies. He explained how their implementation requires a corporate vision—beyond the individual and spontaneous use of tools like ChatGPT—and raised the need to rethink the role of people, professional training, and data governance within organizations.

One of the key themes was the assertion that, at its core, technological innovation is deflationary: it reduces costs, democratizes access, and reshapes entire industries. From autonomous vehicles to personalized medicine, humanoids, and space mining, AI opens the door to markets on a scale never before imagined.

We are witnessing an unprecedented expansion in global wealth, which could double or triple global GDP in the coming decades.

Toward the end of his presentation, the speaker issued a warning: the pace of technological advancement is outpacing the ability of people and organizations to adapt, which is creating economic and social tensions. In this regard, he called for an active, critical, and ethical approach to the use of AI. “The decisions we make today will determine how inclusive and sustainable this transformation will be, he concluded.
