María García da Rosa, Enrique Serra, Laura Tallac, and Alexis Valín, students in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, accompanied by Dr. Luis Silva Domingo, academic coordinator of the MBA program at the School of Management and Social Sciences, participated in the 38th John Molson MBA International Case Competition, which took place from January 7 to 11, 2019, in Canada.

This year, 36 accredited schools from 20 countries competed, representing all five continents. The participants included a total of around 300 coaches and students, and more than 300 business executives served as judges.

The competition consists of an initial group stage featuring six groups of six teams, with the winners and some runners-up advancing to the semifinals and then to the final. This year, ORT competed in the group stage against two Canadian schools, one school from Finland, one from the United States, and the global team, which included members from various countries.

On January 10, heading into the fifth and final match of the series—having won three of the previous four matches—ORT was tied for first place with Université Laval, in a qualifying position. In the final match against the team from Aalto (Finland), our team ultimately finished in 13th place out of 36.
