The welcome event was organized by the university’sInternational Officeand led by Fiorella Giacomuzzi, the Student Exchange Coordinator, along with Mauro Simois, the Student Exchange Assistant.
Dr. María Azpiroz, Director of International Relations, also participated.
Exchange students are coming to classrooms to enrich the educational experiencewith a unique blend of cultures and perspectives, and they will be paired with Uruguayan classmates.
The Mentor Program is designed to have university students provide support to those participating in an exchange semester.
This not only helps them adjust to their new surroundings, but also encourages their integration with local students.
In addition to the new students who arrived in the country this semester, a young woman from Bolivia will begin her second semester, continuing to make the most of the experience of studying in a country other than her own.
The ORT student exchange program is an opportunity to build connections that transcend borders and broaden horizons. Our role at the exchange office is to ensure that every student has the tools they need to adapt and make the most of their exchange experience.

The goal of this exchange program is to foster cultural diversity, promote students’ international exposure, and provide them with an enriching academic experience, in addition to allowing them to study in another country.
This promotes personal and cultural development, as students immerse themselves in a new society, interact with people from different backgrounds, and gain a better understanding of cultural differences.
During their stay at our university, exchange students will take courses in various academic fields and experience student life in Uruguay.
The university aims to make this experience a source of enrichment for exchange students.
It is also expected to strengthen ties between the participating educational institutions and make a significant contribution to the development of intercultural skills, which are invaluable in both the professional and personal lives of each student.
ORT has academic agreements with more than 200 universities and international organizations, spanning a wide range of 35 countries.
This strong network of partnerships reflects the university's ongoing commitment to internationalization and the promotion of educational exchange on a global scale.
