From September 18 to 22, students in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program and thepart-time Executive MBA (EMBA) programparticipated in the course “Internationalize Your Business: Challenges and Opportunities,” taught by distinguished faculty members from the University of Valencia, Dr. José Plá Barber and Dr. Cristina Villar García.
The course
The program focuses on analyzing the phenomenon of business internationalization and its management, providing students with the conceptual tools necessary to understand and work effectively in a global environment.
The proposal is based on developing a strategic vision that meets the current demands of the new global landscape, thereby aligning business strategies with the opportunities it presents.
Visits
In addition to the academic program, the experience includedvisits to leading companies, such as the Port of Valencia, the University of Valencia Science Park, Royo Group, and Stadler Rail. These visits gave students a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences and expand their professional networks.
At the University of Valencia Science Park, the students were welcomed by Fernando María Zárraga Quintana, the park’s director, and Vicent Clemente Císcar, business development manager, who gave them a tour of the park’s highlights, sharing their management model and the exciting challenges they face.
In addition, they attended presentations by two exceptional entrepreneurs: Quique García Vidal, CEO and co-founder of deepsense, and Alberto Ruiz Tomas, managing director of Poplac. Their innovative ideas and projects are a testament to the incredible potential found at the University of Valencia Science Park.
At Stadler Rail, Pablo Juan, sales director, and Luis Pelloni, a specialist in development and investment in public and private infrastructure projects, presented the history and growth of the company behind the production of locomotives for Uruguay’s central railway, which is also leading the Urban Tram project connecting Plaza Independencia with El Pinar. During the visit, they exchanged ideas about these projects, which are crucial for Uruguay.

Javier Julián, the industrial project leader, gave them a tour of the plant and showed them the different stages of locomotive production. They had the opportunity to see, right in the middle of the manufacturing process, one of the locomotives that will be shipped to Uruguay.
At the Port of Valencia, alongside Professor Cristina Villar, Ph.D., from the University of Valencia, the students were welcomed by José Martín Robles of the Port Authority of Valencia. He gave them an overview of the history and development of the Port of Valencia, its expansion plans, and the environmental sustainability projects currently underway.
They then took a guided tour of the various docks—including the container, car, and passenger terminals—as well as the marina area.
Finally, they visited Royo Group, a renowned European brand in the world of bathroom furniture, with a history spanning more than 50 years of success and excellence.
During this visit, they were welcomed by Cesar Taboas, Director of R&D&I, and Juan Quintanilla Garrido, Lean Promoter, who guided them through the company’s internationalization process, sharing their achievements and lessons learned, particularly regarding the establishment of production facilities in Poland and Mexico.
They also visited the Innovation Center, where they were greeted by Inma Ribes Diego, head of engineering and product development, who presented "Value Stream Mapping" in product development.
