The Salão Design 2023 Award is one step closer to announcing the winners of its 25th edition. Of the 575 projects submitted by professionals and students,228 were approvedby the panel of judges during the first stage of evaluation, which focused on technical and functional criteria.
Competitors from Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, and Italy are preparing to send their products to Bento Gonçalves, in the Serra Gaúcha, where they will be evaluated in person by the aesthetic and creative judges on July 17 and 18. In addition, the public can vote until July 19.
The Salão Design Award is the most prestigious product design competition in Latin America. Its goal is to foster technological innovation through design by highlighting the skills and talent of its participants.
Finalist projects
Of those 228 finalist entries, five projects by students in the Bachelor of Industrial Design program were selected in the categories of “Spaces in Transformation,” “Brazilian Identity 2023,” and “Positive Experiences.” The projects were developed in the course Industrial Design 3 – Production Feasibility, offered in the fifth semester of the program, under the guidance of professors D. Ind. Maximiliano Izzi and D. Ind. Pablo D’Angelo.
