International Students at the Annual Kickoff for New Students

In March, 44 students from universities in Germany, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the United States, Spain, France, and Mexico arrived in Uruguay to spend a semester at the university. They are participating through student exchange agreements and special programs for international students. 


On March 11, a welcome meeting was held at the ORT Pocitos Auditorium, attended by the Dean of Academic Development, Julio Fernández, the Student Exchange Coordinator, Miriam Kemna, international students who arrived in August 2010 and are staying for another semester, and university students participating in the Mentor Program, which aims to support the integration of international students.

Students came from the following universities:

European Business School (Germany) - two students
University of Paderborn(Germany) - two students
WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management (Germany) - one student
University of the Amazon (Brazil) - two students
Laval University ( Canada) - five students
Grancolombiano Polytechnic (Colombia) - two students
Pontifical Javeriana University (Colombia) - one student
Middlebury Program (Colby College and Wofford College, United States) - two students
University of North Carolina ( United States) - onestudent
University of San Diego (United States) - two students
Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain) - one student
Clermont ESC (France) - two students
ESC Toulouse ( France) - five students
Autonomous University of Aguascalientes (Mexico) - thirteen students
University of Colima (Mexico) - two students
Metropolitan Autonomous University (Mexico) - one student

Eleven of the international students are taking courses in the Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Administration, fourteen in the Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies, four in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, five in the Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, three in the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, two in Architecture, and five in the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design.
