The project “Graphical Migration of a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) System,” carried out by Andrés Martínez and Renato Moraes, systems engineering students, under the supervision of José Szyman, a professor in the School of Engineering, won first prize in the Computing category of the Undergraduate and Graduate Project Competition organized by the National Academy of Engineering of Uruguay.
Meanwhile, the project “Improvements in the Upstream Processing of Clostridial Antigens,” by Belén Álamo and Pía Fernández, students in the Bachelor’s Program in Biotechnology, supervised by Dr. Rodrigo Achigar, coordinator of the Biotechnology Laboratory, and Dr. Lorena Betancor, professor of Protein Technology at the school, won first prize in the Biotechnology Thesis category. The work was carried out as part of a project conducted with the pharmaceutical group Virbac Uy.
The awards ceremony took place on December 11, 2018, in the Delmira Agustini Hall at the Solís Theater.
