Students received an award from the National Academy of Engineering

On September 22, the awards ceremony for the Undergraduate and Graduate Project Competition organized by the National Academy of Engineering took place. At the event, students Federico Armando, Matías Boix, Pablo Piriz, and Ignacio Tabo were recognized for their project "SmartLife: A Platform to Support Kitchen Activities," their final thesis for the Systems Engineering program. They shared the first prize in the computer science category with the project “Design and Execution of an Experiment with 5 Unit Verification Techniques,” presented by students from the University of the Republic. Among the criteria evaluated for the award was the relevance of the topic to the national interest. The event took place in the auditorium of the Ministry of Education and Culture in the presence of the Minister, Dr. Ricardo Ehrlich.

The judging took place on August 31 at the School of Engineering. Representing the University of the Republic were Dr. Gustavo Betarte, Dr. Pablo Belzarena, and MSc. César Briozzo; representing the Catholic University, Dr. Enrique Ferreira and Dr. Daniel Perciante; representing the University of Montevideo, Eng. Juan Piaggio and Eng. Marcelo Castelli; and representing ORT University, MSc. Gastón Mousqués and Dr. Patricia Corbo. The Academy was represented by its Secretary, Eng. Adriana Gamboggi.
