Ethical Hacking: Techniques and Challenges

On March 30, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., a lecture on ethical hacking will be held in the Centro Auditorium at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

A lecture on ethical hacking will take place on March 30, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of Universidad ORT Uruguay Downtown Campus.

The event will be led by faculty members Mauricio Campiglia and Mateo Martínez, who are specialists in information security.

During the conference, speakers will demonstrate some of the most interesting techniques in modern hacking, along with a presentation of challenges featured at the region’s leading events on the subject, such as:

  • Safe Opening
  • Data decoding
  • Reverse engineering
  • Wi-Fi Hacking

This will be a hands-on workshop in which participants will take part in hacking Wi-Fi networks, mobile apps, web apps, and more.

Admission is free and no prior registration is required.

Brief biographies of the speakers

  • Mauricio Campiglia

Information Security Specialist with experience in the field since 2001.

He has worked as a security product specialist for leading brands, as a consultant and architect of cross-platform security solutions, a security solutions integrator, a forensic analyst, a penetration tester, and an instructor.

He led work teams and served as the head of information security at a government agency.

A frequent speaker and lecturer, he has given presentations on security and open-source software in several countries throughout the region.

He currently works in incident response, penetration testing, forensic analysis, and teaching.

has CISA and CCNP Security international certifications, as well as other certifications specific to security products from leading brands.

He teaches courses on Ethical Hacking and Incident Management, as well as Application Development Security, at ORT University in Uruguay, where he received the 2014 Award for Teaching Excellence.

  • Mateo Martinez

An international information security professional with experience in information security since 2001.

has professional has as a consultant, auditor, penetration tester, IT security manager, and information security manager at renowned international companies such as McAfee, Intel, PwC, Accenture, and Tata Consultancy Services.

He has developed information security projects in cities such as Dubai and Chicago, as well as in major cities across Latin America.

He currently works as a security officer at a private company.

has international has such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) from (ISC)²; CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) from EC-Council; ISO 27001 Lead Implementer from PECB; and ITIL, among others.

He is a well-known speaker at local and international information security events.

He is the founder of the OWASP Uruguay chapter and actively participates in organizing OWASP events such as the OWASP Latam Tour and AppSec Latam.

He teaches the courses Ethical Hacking and Incident Management, and Application Development Security at ORT University in Uruguay.
