As part of the 25th anniversary of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, the School of Business and Social Sciences held a reception in honor of Dr. José de la Torre.
De este modo, de la Torre is stepping down from the MBA advisory board, of which he was a founding member and served for five years.
During that time, the Master’s program was ranked among the top 20 in the region by América Economía, received recognition from the Eduniversal ranking, and earned international accreditation from AMBA, one of the world’s three leading accrediting bodies.
At the event, which took place on October 2, 2015, at the Sheraton Hotel, José de la Torre received a sculpture by artist Ricardo Pascale and expressed his gratitude for having met with the founding members of the board.
De la Torre is the executive director of the MBA Consortium for Global Business Innovation. He has also served as dean of Florida International University, director of UCLA’s Center for International Business Education and Research, a researcher at Harvard Business School, and a professor at INSEAD in France, among other positions.
“It has always been a great pleasure for me to share board meetings with you,” he said. “I think we’ve accomplished a lot in just five years.”
