The Executive Branch appointed academics from the Institute of Education to serve on the Advisory Council

On June 20, 2022, the Executive Branch appointed Dr. Martín Rebour and Dr. Verónica Zorrilla de San Martín to the Advisory Council on University-Level Teacher Education, whose purpose is to advise the Ministry of Education and Culture on applications for recognition of teacher education programs at the university level.

The Advisory Council will consist of six members, along with their respective alternates, who were appointed by the Executive Branch upon the recommendation of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the National Public Education Administration (ANEP), the University of the Republic, and the Council of Rectors of Private Universities.

Rebour—who currently serves as associate academic coordinator for the Doctorate in Education and the Master’s in Education at the Institute of Education, and as manager of teacher training for the Ceibal Plan—was nominated by the Ministry of Education and Culture and will be one of the full professors.

Zorrilla de San Martín was also nominated by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The head of Capacity Building at the Global Learning Network, a publisher, and a professor at the Institute of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguay, on the other hand, will participate as an alternate.

Members of the Advisory Board shall serve for a term of three years and may be reelected for up to two consecutive terms.
