International Animation Festival (FIA)

The 11th International Animation Festival (FIA) took place at the Downtown Campus from October 25 to 27, 2017. The event served as a platform for showcasing animated shorts created by students and graduates of animation schools, high school students, independent animators, and production companies from around the world.

Theevent was organized by the School of Communication and Design and designated as an event of cultural interest by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

The festival featured screenings of selected short films, lectures by national and international speakers, and networking opportunities with industry representatives.

Winners:

The Grand Jury Prize was awarded to the short film *Hors Saison*, directed by Nicolas Capitaine, Léni Marotte, Lucas Durkheim, and Céline Desoutter (France).

The award for Best Experimental Short Film went to *Alergia*, directed by Juan Manuel Galvis (Argentina).

The award for Best Uruguayan Short Film went to *Historias Compartidas*, directed by Pablo Marcovecchio.

The award for Best Uruguayan Short Film (Student Category) went to *Estoy bien*, directed by Georgine Herbig and Florencia Guerra.
